Once again Patsi you really hit home with some great points. I think one of the most expensive marketing tactics we use is Press Releases. The sites that we use generate interest which means that obviously they come at a price.
It works when there is relevant news stories to write about (of course).

I agree with you, Jenny, about press releases being expensive as a marketing tactic. They are good for getting online links and traffic back to your site. They may also get you found by journalists researching stories. But I wonder about their value for small business owners and independent professionals. As The Blog Squad, we stopped doing them over more than a year ago. Not enough return on investment...
