Great post! Really motivational, not to mention informative. Thanks. I hope Carol started earning already. It's a perfect past-time and at the same time, job, for a retired person..^_^

For Carol and other retired educators, there are a number of educational foundations that have websites that are looking for experienced educators to prepare class plans and teaching materials that teachers in impoverished districts can download and use in their classrooms. I've run across the sites online, but can't remember any specific names. Maybe some Googling will help.

Personally, I think the textbooks, workbooks, and even the mimeographed sheets our teachers used in the 60s were superior to many of today's prettier but emptier teaching materials. No wonder the kids are bored in school.
