Every creative (writer or otherwise) should take 5 minutes right now to create a list like yours for themselves and hang it in an easy-to-see spot. Sometimes it's so easy to get bogged down by process, timelines, and outside requirements that the creative side of our brains just give out.

I recently discovered an amazing way to re-energize your creative side: hang out with creative kids. I spent an entire Saturday judging a creative problem solving competition and discovered that my inner creative was longing to "get out and play" with the kids. I was also reminded the true, unfettered creativity is a beautiful thing and we should practice it more often.

Thanks, Natanya. Good insights. Thanks for stopping by!

For me another way of staying creative is writing different forms. To relax I write fiction, something that requires me to think outside the box and fingers tapping away on the keys without having a deadline to meet. However working on articles, press releases and scripts, I have a more academic approach and therefore another creative flare has to appear.

I think creativity should be expressed in different ways of writing, designing etc otherwise boredom sets in the fun is lost.
