The best can't-put-down trash I've read recently is Candace Bushnell's One Fifth Avenue. It's really well done! http://www.amazon.com/One-Fifth-Avenue-Candace-Bushnell/dp/1401301614

Use vacation NOT to read trash; trash is for those times when you're too tired to read deeply.
Fiction:
John Updike's Widows of Eastwick (hilarious)
Denis Johnson's Tree of Smoke (epic)
Rivka Galchen's Atmospheric Disturbances (playful, deeply smart)
Michael Chabon's The Yiddish Police Officers' Union (most inventive read of the decade)

The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. Very easy read great book if you are a writer and have trouble breaking through procrastination.
Winning Through Intimidation by Robert Ringer

Thanks, Vickie: I see you're point, I'll probably be rested up enough to actually digest something substantial...but I can't resist so I'll take some trash along as well. Since I'm Kindle-ing my books these days, I can take as many with me as I want, no extra weight for digital electrons!
Bill, do you mean the Art of War? Or, by Pressfield, I found the Virtues of War and the Tides of War...

I just finished "Sarah's Key" by Rebecca De Rosnay and it was fantastic. Read it fast and it was a page turner. Have a great vacation!
